Sweet and sour cucumbers

Measure Ingredient
8 cups Sliced cucumbers
2 cups Sliced onions
1 tablespoon Salt
1½ cup Vinegar
2 teaspoons Celery seed
2 teaspoons Mustard seed
2 cups Sugar


This is from the back of a vinegar jar - Heinz, I think.

Sprinkle salt over cucumbers and onions. Let stand 1 hour. Drain.

Mix liquid ingredients together and pour over cucumbers. Refrigerate 24 hours.

(This was a big hit when I took it to a friend's house at Rosh Hashanah time)
