Cucumber sweet pickles

Ingredients

| 7 | pounds | Cucumbers |
| 2 | gallons | Cold water |
| 1 | cup | Barnyard lime |
| 5 | pounds | White sugar |
| 2 | quarts | Apple cider vinegar |
| 1 | pack | Cinnamon sticks; broken |
| 1 | teaspoon | Mace |
| 1 | teaspoon | Turmeric |
| 1 | teaspoon | Salt |
| 1 | tablespoon | Whole cloves |
Directions
First day: Slice cucumbers in ¼-inch slices & soak in lime water for 24 hours (2 gallons cold water & 1 cup barnyard lime). Second day: Rince cucumbers 2 or 3 times. Drain well & handle carefully. To the cucumbers add remaining ingredients which have been mixed well. Let stand 24 hours. Third day: Cook mixture of cucumbers & spices together for 20 minutes after boiling starts. Seal HOT.
