|2 gallons||Cold water|
|1 cup||Barnyard lime|
|5 pounds||White sugar|
|2 quarts||Apple cider vinegar|
|1 pack||Cinnamon sticks; broken|
|1 tablespoon||Whole cloves|
First day: Slice cucumbers in ¼-inch slices & soak in lime water for 24 hours (2 gallons cold water & 1 cup barnyard lime). Second day: Rince cucumbers 2 or 3 times. Drain well & handle carefully. To the cucumbers add remaining ingredients which have been mixed well. Let stand 24 hours. Third day: Cook mixture of cucumbers & spices together for 20 minutes after boiling starts. Seal HOT.
