Spiced-up apple cake

1largeGolden Delicious apple; peeled, cored and diced (2 cups)
2tablespoonsGranulated sugar
1tablespoonAll-purpose flour
1tablespoonButter or margarine; cut into pieces
½teaspoonGround cinnamon
¾cupWalnuts; coarsely chopped
¼cupConfectioners' sugar
1teaspoonMilk

Preheat oven to 350øF. Grease 8 x 8-inch baking pan. Prepare cake: In small bowl combine flour, allspice, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

In large bowl with electric mixer at high speed, cream butter and granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy. Add egg, milk, Tabasco pepper sauce and flour mixture. Beat at meduim until blended and smooth; stir in chopped apple. Spoon mixture into prepared pan.

Prepare topping: In small bowl, combine sugar, flour, butter and cinnamon until well mixed; stir in walnuts. Sprinkle mixture over top of batter in pan. Bake 45 to 50 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack.

Prepare glaze: In small bowl, stir confectioners' sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over cake.
