Spiced red cabbage

Yield: 6 Servings

Measure Ingredient
½ medium Red cabbage; diced
1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
½ cup Onion; chopped
1 medium Tart apples; quartered
3 tablespoons Tarragon or red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 Bay leaf
1 teaspoon Salt; optional
¼ teaspoon Pepper
⅛ teaspoon Ground cloves

Drain. Return to kettle; stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for 1 hour or until cabbage is tender. Remove bay leaf.
