German red cabbage

Yield: 10 servings

Measure Ingredient
⅓ cup Shortening
1 each Apple, chopped
1 each Onion, chopped
2 pounds Red cabbage, sliced
¾ cup Sugar
3 eaches Bay leaves
1 tablespoon Salt
1 teaspoon Pepper
\N \N Dash of cinnamon
\N \N Dash of cloves
¾ cup Cider vinegar
2 cups Beef bouillon

Place all ingredients in crockpot in order listed. Cook for 2 hours on high, stir, and cook an additional hour. Can also be cooked in skillet on stovetop on simmer for 30-40 minutes.
