Pretzel jello salad or dessert

Ingredients

Quantity Ingredient
2 cups Pretzels -- crushed
3 tablespoons Plus 1/4 cup sugar
¾ cup Butter or oleo -- melted
8 ounces Cream cheese
12 ounces Cool Whip
2 packs Strawberry jello (or 6 oz)
2 packs 10 oz frozen strawberries, partially thawed

Directions

1st Layer:

Combine 2 cups crushed pretzels, 3 tbsp. sugar and ¾ cup melted butter. Pat into bottom of 9x13-inch baking dish. Bake at 350~ for 7 minutes. Cool.

2nd Layer:

Mix 8 ounces cream cheese, ¼ cup sugar and 12 ounce carton Cool Whip. Spread over cooled crust. 3rd Layer:

Combine 6 ounces strawberry jello and 2 cups boiling water. While jello is still hot, mix in two 10-ounce packages partially thawed frozen strawberries. Cool until slightly thick. Spread over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate at least 4 hours. May also be frozen. This recipe is liked by men, children and ladies.
