½ | cup | Parmesan cheese |
4 | tablespoons | Butter |
⅓ | cup | Shortening |
2½ | cup | Self-rising flour |
1 | cup | Milk; approximately |
1 | cup | Shredded Swiss cheese |
Saute onions in butter until soft. Set aside. Combine flour and Parmesan cheese. Cut in shortening to make coarse crumbly mixture. Blend in enough milk to make a thick batter. Spread batter into a 10½ x 15½" pan. Cover with Swiss cheese and sauteed onions. Bake at 375 degrees until crisp and golden.
