Mommy's meatloaf

Yield: 6 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1½ pounds Lean ground beef
1 cup Cracker crumbs (approx 22) or bread crumbs; dry
1¼ cup Milk
1 large Egg
¼ cup Chopped onion; (1 small)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1½ teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon Dry mustard
¼ teaspoon Pepper
¼ teaspoon Ground sage
1 \N Clove crushed garlic; optional
8 ounces Finely chopped mushrooms; optional
½ cup Ketchup

Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Don't overhandle the meat, as that will toughen it. Spread in ungreased loaf pan, 9x5x3 inches. Spread with ketchup (or BBQ Sauce, if desired). Leave a section of it plain, as Dad doesn't care for the ketchup topping. Cook uncovered in 350 degree oven until done, about 1½ hours.

Serving Ideas : Mashed Potatoes, Corn or Green Beans, Biscuits.
