Mommy's meatloaf

Ingredients

| 1½ | pounds | Lean ground beef |
| 1 | cup | Cracker crumbs (approx 22) or bread crumbs; dry |
| 1¼ | cup | Milk |
| 1 | large | Egg |
| ¼ | cup | Chopped onion; (1 small) |
| 1 | tablespoon | Worcestershire sauce |
| 1½ | teaspoon | Salt |
| ½ | teaspoon | Dry mustard |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Pepper |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Ground sage |
| 1 | Clove crushed garlic; optional | |
| 8 | ounces | Finely chopped mushrooms; optional |
| ½ | cup | Ketchup |
Directions
Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Don't overhandle the meat, as that will toughen it. Spread in ungreased loaf pan, 9x5x3 inches. Spread with ketchup (or BBQ Sauce, if desired). Leave a section of it plain, as Dad doesn't care for the ketchup topping. Cook uncovered in 350 degree oven until done, about 1½ hours.
Serving Ideas : Mashed Potatoes, Corn or Green Beans, Biscuits.
