Miriam's apple cake

Yield: 16 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1 cup Margarine
1½ cup Sugar
3 larges Eggs
3 cups Flour
1½ teaspoon Baking soda
1 pinch Mace; optional
½ teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
2 teaspoons Vanilla
2 tablespoons Whiskey, brandy, liqueur or sweet wine
3 cups Apples; peeled, cored, chopped or shredded
1 cup Walnuts; chopped, or pecans
1 cup Chocolate chips

Cream margarine and sugar till fluffy, beat in eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add gradually. Fold in remaining ingredients. Spoon into a greased and floured 10" tube pan or 12"x17" rectangular pan. Bake at 350 about an hour or till done.
