|1½ pounds||Ground beef (or 1/2 lb beef; 1/2 lb veal, 1/2 lb pork, all ground)|
|1 large||Grated carrot|
|1||Onion; chopped finely|
|1||Rib celery; chopped finely|
|¾ cup||Rolled oats|
|½ cup||Milk powder|
|½ teaspoon||Each salt; pepper, sage, dry mustard|
|2 cups||Beef broth|

Combine meat, vegetables, rolled oats, milk powder and spices and mix well.
Add ½ c broth, mix again, place into 8x3 inch loaf pan. Bake 350F, 30 min. Pour another ½ c broth over meatloaf, bake in 350F a further 45 min.
