1¼ cup | Ice water |
1 \N | Egg yolk; beaten |
1½ cup | Self-rising flour |
1 dash | Salt |
1 \N | Egg white; beaten until stiff |
\N \N | Oil for frying |
BATTER
Make 4 sandwiches using bread, cheese, ham, chicken and turkey. Cut into fourths and secure with toothpicks. Dip into batter. Fry in deep hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serves 8.
Batter: Add half of water to egg yolk. Stir in flour, salt, and add remaining water. Then fold in beaten egg white. A pretty fruit cup would be a nice accompaniment.
