German applesauce meatloaf aunt matilda

Ingredients

| 1½ | pounds | Ground beef |
| ½ | pounds | Ground pork |
| ½ | cup | Onion, fine chopped |
| 1 | cup | Applesauce |
| 1 | large | Egg |
| 1 | cup | Bread crumbs (see note) |
| 3 | tablespoons | Ketchup |
| 2 | teaspoons | Salt |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Pepper, black |
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 deg f. Lightly ooiol a 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well. Place meatloaf mixture in pan.
Bake 1½ - 2 hours. Let cool 10 - 15 minutes. Turn out of pan. Slice and serve.
NOTE: if necessary, add more bread crumbs, a tablespoon at a time, to make loaf firm.
