Flavored butter spreads

Make warm-from-the-oven bread even more special by serving it with a flavored butter spread.

** Directions

To prepare, beat the softened butter in a small bowl at high speed until light and fluffy. Add one of the following; beat until well blended and smooth.

* ⅛ to ¼ tsp garlic powder * 1 to 2 tsp minced garlic

* ⅛ to ¼ tsp dried thyme leaves; finely crushed * ¼ cup Parmesan cheese

* 2 Tbsp pesto sauce (purchased or home-made) * ¼ cup honey

* ¼ cup orange marmalade

* 2 Tbsp maple-flavored syrup (or use the real stuff) * 2 Tbsp orange juice plus 1 Tbsp orange zest These butter spreads can be prepared ahead and stored in the refrigerator. For easier spreading, let them soften at room temperature before serving.
