Cowman's barbecue sauce

Ingredients

1Juice of 1 lemon
8ouncesTomato sauce or tomato paste
1(1 can)
3largesOnions, diced
1largeClove garlic, minced
½cupBrown sugar, firmly packed
1cupWater
1tablespoonLiquid smoke
1tablespoonRed chili powder
2teaspoonsSugar
1teaspoonBlack pepper
teaspoonSalt
½teaspoonGround cloves

Directions

Mix all of the ingredients together, blending well, and simmer at least 1 hour, but longer is better. Serve on roast, ribs, steaks or beefburgers. Leftovers can be frozen.
