Chunky herb-tomato sauce

Yield: 10 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1 tablespoon Olive oil
1 cup Chopped onion
4 \N Cloves garlic -- minced
1½ teaspoon Sugar
¾ teaspoon Dried basil
½ teaspoon Dried oregano
½ teaspoon Pepper
⅛ teaspoon Salt
35 ounces Plum tomatoes -- (1 can)
\N \N Undrained

Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat until hot. Add onion and garlic; saute 3 minutes. Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes. Yield: 5 cups (serving size: ½ cup).
