Chocolate gems

Yield: 12 servings

Measure Ingredient
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
⅓ cup sunflower oil
2 eaches eggs
1½ teaspoon vanilla
1 cup unbleached white flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup walnuts, chopped
1 each powdered sugar

Melt chocolate. Combine with sugar and oil. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well. Stir in vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to chocolate mixture, stirring until blended. Add nuts. Chill overnight. Drop by teaspoonsful into bowl of powdered sugar, and roll until balls are coated with powdered sugar. Place on oiled cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees 10-12 minutes. Cool on rack.
