Chocolate branches

Yield: 24 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1 pack Frozen puff pastry; thawed
6 ounces Semisweet chocolate chips; very finely chopped
4 tablespoons Hazelnuts; finely chopped (or nuts of your choice)

Preheat oven to 400.

On a well floured surface, place one sheet of pastry dough and roll into a 12" x 12" square. Spread half of the chocolate and nuts evenly over half of the dough. Fold over dough and roll our into a 7" x 14" rectangle. Cut pastry into ½" strips. Holding one end of each strip, twist the dough 4 or 5 times. Place dough strips on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until pastry is puffed and brown. Repeat with second sheet of dough.

Let cool and dust with cocoa powder or confectioners sugar. Makes 24 branches.
