Cheese-date biscuits

Ingredients

½ | cup | Butter Or Margarine |
2 | cups | N.Y. State Cheese (Sharp Cheddar); grated |
1½ | cup | Flour |
1 | dash | Cayenne Pepper |
1 | teaspoon | Sugar |
1 | pack | (8 Oz.) Dates; cut into small pcs. |
2 | tablespoons | Water |
1 | tablespoon | Sugar |
Directions
DOUGH
FILLING
FOR THE DOUGH:
Mix first 3 ingredients thoroughly. Add cayenne pepper and sugar. Mix well.
FOR THE FILLING:
Mix these ingredients well and cook 3 minutes.
TO ASSEMBLE:
Roll cheese dough thinly; cut with biscuit cutter. Spread date mixture on each round; fold over and press edges to seal. Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes.
Makes about 40 biscuits.
