Bran muffins # 4

Yield: 16 muffins

Measure Ingredient
¼ cup Shortening
½ cup Brown sugar (firmly packed)
¼ cup Molasses
2 Eggs,unbeaten
1 cup Sweet milk
1 cup Quaker flour
1½ teaspoon Baking powder
½ teaspoon Baking soda
¾ teaspoon Salt
1½ cup Quaker bran
½ cup Raisins, optional

Cream shortening and sugar together.Add molasses and eggs and beat together well. Add milk and then the bran.Sift flourl,baking powder,soda and salt together.Then add raisins if desired,mixing well.Place in greased muffin tins.Bake in hot oven at 400-425 degrees for 15 -20 minutes.
