Measure | Ingredient |

8 larges | Apples peeled, cored |
2 cups | All-purpose flour, sifted |
12 ounces | Ale |
½ teaspoon | Salt |
\N \N | Oil, lard or shortening |
\N \N | Confectioners' sugar |
1. Slice the peeled and cored apples or cut into rounds at ⅓ inch thick. 2. Combine ale, flour and salt with whisk, until mixture is smooth then Dip apple slices in mixture. 3. Fry in deep fat or in 1 inch of oil in heavy skillet at 370°frying temperature. Drain. 4.
Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Serve immediately.
