Yield: 4 Servings

Measure Ingredient
2 cups Cornmeal
1½ teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1½ cup Milk or water
½ cup Cooking oil or bacon grease

Mix thoroughly cornmeal, salt, baking powder and milk. Put oil or grease in a skillet; heat. Let crust form. Give a good stir and lower heat to simmer. Cover. Cook 15 minutes. Serve with milk and sugar or with syrup.
