Yield: 5 servings
|1 cup||All-Purpose Flour|
|1 cup||Milk -- divided|
|¼ cup||Shortening Or Drippings|
|1½ pounds||Ground Beef|
|1½ tablespoon||Onion -- grated|
|1 teaspoon||Chopped Parsley|
|1 teaspoon||Chopped Chives|
|½ teaspoon||Worcestershire Sauce|
Combine flour and ⅓ tsp salt in a bowl and make well in the center; pour in ½ cup of milk and beat thoroughly. Add whole eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add remainder of milk, and beat.
Heat drippings in a baking pan until hot, but not smoking; add half of the batter; spread with mixture of meat and seasonings; add remainder of batter and bake at 400 F for 20 mins. Lower temperature to 350 F and continue baking for 20 to 25 mins longer. Yield: 5 to 6 servings.
