White trash corn pone

2 | cups | Cornmeal |
½ | teaspoon | Baking soda |
1 | each | Egg |
½ | cup | Molasses (cane) |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
1 | tablespoon | Bacon drippings |
Add enough warm water to the cornmeal to make a thin dough. Allow it to rise overnight in a warm place (or in the oven). Add all other ingredients to the sponge, mix well, and then bake in a skillet at 400F until a nice golden brown in color. Slice and eat.
