Measure | Ingredient |

1 medium | Onion, chopped |
2 tablespoons | Bacon or pork fat |
2 cups | Sauerkraut, (16 oz. can) drained, rinsed and liquid replaced by water |
½ teaspoon | Caraway seeds |
¾ cup | White wine |
1 medium | Potato, peeled and grated |
Saute onion in fat until tender. Add remaining ingredients except potato. Simmer, covered, for 30 minutes. Add grated potato and simmer for another 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
