Vicki's country cornbread

Yield: 1 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1½ cup Milk or butter milk or sour milk
1 \N Egg
⅔ cup Sugar (optional)
1 cup Cornmeal (yellow or white)
1 cup Flour
3 teaspoons Baking powder

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Beat first three ingredients until frothy. Add the next three ingredients mix until moistened.. do not over mix.

Melt one tbsp of shortening in an iron skillet while you are preheating the oven. Carefully pour the mixture in your hot skillet, Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown
