Sweet grapefruit tea

1 | can | (16-oz) grapefruit sections |
½ | cup | Sugar |
2 | cups | Water |
2 | tablespoons | Cornstarch |
2 | tablespoons | Water |
Directions
1. Bring water to a boil. Add grapefruit sections, their syrup and sugar; and heat, stirring. Then add the second quantity of water and heat.
2. Meanwhile blend cornstarch and remaining water to a paste. Then add and bring to the boiling point, stirring until the mixture thickens. Serve hot, in small bowls. VARIATIONS: For the grapefruit sections, substitute either 2 small cans of mandarin oranges or 1 large can of fruit cocktail. Or substitute 2 cups of fresh fruit, diced. (For the latter, use orange or pineapple juice for the first 2 cups of water and add another ½ cup sugar in step 1.)
