Summer casserole

Yield: 10 servings

Measure Ingredient
1 pounds Ground beef
1 pounds Italian sausage; mild
1 Onion; chopped
1 Green pepper; in strips
1 quart Spaghetti sauce
4 mediums Yellow squash;or zucchini,sl
½ pounds Mozzarella cheese; thinly sliced
½ cup Parmesan cheese

Brown meats in heavy skillet. Add onion and pepper and saute until tender. Drain off and discard excess liquid. Add spaghetti sauce and simmer for 1½ hours. Put half of the squash or zucchini into 13 x 9 pan. Cover with half of the sauce and meat mixture, then with half of the mozzarella cheese. Make second layer, using remaining ingredients. Top with parmesan cheese and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
