Spiced up baked beans

Ingredients

3tablespoonsSunflower oil
1Onion; chopped
1Green chilli; finely chopped
¼teaspoonGaram masala; (* see recipe),
; ground cumin and
; ground coriander
1400 gram can baked beans with sugar
Salt; to taste
Chappattis; tandoori rotis,
; pitta bread or
; toast, to serve

Directions

1 Heat a pan and add the oil.

2 Add the onion, fry for a minute, add the chilli and cook for a few minutes. Stir continuously, until the onions turn golden brown.

3 Add the spices and fry for a minute, stirring. Add the beans, lower the heat and cook for a few minutes, stirring. The sauce should concentrate and thicken absorbing the spicy flavours. Season with salt if necessary. Serve hot with chappattis, tandoori rotis, pitta bread or just on toast.
