Measure | Ingredient |

1 pack | Dried Beans( Yellow Eye; Navy, Great Northern,Etc. |
4 tablespoons | Granulated sugar |
2 teaspoons | Salt; to taste |
¼ teaspoon | Black pepper |
1 teaspoon | Powdered mustard |
½ cup | Molasses |
2 ounces | Piece salt pork; (up to 3) |
1 medium | Peeled whole onion |
Soak beans overnight. In a. m. drain and replace water. Parboil 10 to 15 minutes (not longer). Place onion in crockpot. Drain beans and put on top of onion. Add sugar, salt, pepper, mustard and molasses dissolved in 1½ cups of hot water. Add to beans. Add enough hot water to just cover top of beans. Place salt pork on top. Cover and set crock pot on high. Check and add water about every 3 hours, when necessary. Cook 6 to 8 hours.
