Yield: 5 Servings
|1 pounds||Ground round steak (not too fine)|
|½ small||Onion; chopped|
|1 can||(no 2) stewed tomatoes; mashed|
|1 pack||(12-oz) noodles|
|½ pint||Sour cream|
|1 pack||Dry onion soup mix|
|½ pounds||Sharp cheddar cheese; grated|
Brown ground steak and onion; add tomatoes. Cook for about 15 minutes.
Boil noodles for 10 minutes and drain. Place noodles in a bowl; stir in sour cream and onion soup mix. Alternate layers of cooked noodles and steak mixture in a casserole; top with grated cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Will serve 5 to 6.
Note: May be made the day before and kept in the refrigerator; does not freeze well.
