Sauerkraut with apples

1 | pounds | Sauerkraut; drained |
½ | cup | Beef bouillon or consomme |
2 | Tart apples, cored, pared | |

1 | teaspoon | Sugar |
½ | teaspoon | Caraway seed |
1 | medium | Potato, raw; peeled |
& grated | ||
Salt and pepper; to taste |
Directions
Recipe by: The Eastern European Cookbook-ISBN 0-486-23562-9 In a saucepan, saute onion in fat until tender. Add sauerkraut; saute 1 min. Add remaining ingredients. Cook slowly, covered, for 30 mins.
Serves 4.
NOTES : This is usually served with pork or game.
