Red fruit and champagne

Ingredients

½cupStrawberries washed and hulled
½cupRaspberries, cleaned
¼cupRed currants, cleaned
¾cupSugar
750millilitresBottle chilled champagne or sparkling wine
¼cupRaspberry liqueur

Directions

Place the fruit in a large pitcher and cover with the sugar in a layer. Allow the fruit to macerate in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.

Just before serving, pour a bottle of champagne over the fruit and add the raspberry liqueur. Serve chilled.
