Quickest-ever apple cake

Ingredients

| 1 | Or 2 tart apples, peeled, cored, thickly sliced, and sprinkled with lemon juice | |
| ¾ | cup | Plus 2 Tb. sugar |
| 1 | teaspoon | Cinnamon |
| 12 | teaspoons | Butter, melted (1 1/2 sticks) |
| 1 | cup | Flour, sifted |
| 1 | Egg, slightly beaten | |
Directions
Arrange apples in buttered 9" pie plate. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon.
Pour melted butter in medium bowl. Add ¾ cup sugar, flour, and egg.
Stir until smooth. Spread batter evenly over apples. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, until pale golden brown.
