Pineapple carob cashew brownies

Ingredients

2cupsWhole wheat pastry flour
cupCarob powder
2teaspoonsBaking powder
1pinchSalt
½cupHoney or apple juice
½cupUnsweetened applesauce
¼cupCanned pineapple pieces (Unsweetened)
1teaspoonVanilla extract
½cupRaw cashew pieces

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large mixing bowl combine flour, carob, baking powder and salt.

Blend honey, applesauce, juices, pineapple and vanilla.

Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and stir in nuts. Pour batter into an oiled 9" x 13" pan. Bake 1 hour or until brownies pull away from sides of pan.
