1½ pounds | Hamburger or ground turkey |
1 small | Onion, chopped |
½ cup | Chopped celery |
1 can | (small) sliced water chestnuts, drained and liquid reserved |
1 can | (4 oz) sliced mushrooms, drained and liquid reserved |
⅔ cup | Raw rice (measure dry) |
1 teaspoon | Salt |
1 teaspoon | Pepper |
⅓ cup | Soy sauce |
Brown hamburger, onion, and celery in a skillet; drain off fat. Add water chestnuts, mushrooms, rice, salt, pepper, and soy sauce sauce to hamburger mixture. Add enough water to reserved liquids to make 2 cups. Stir into hamburver mixture.
Cover and bake at 350 degrees for about an hour. Makes 6-8 servings.
