Onions almondine

Yield: 6 Servings

Measure Ingredient
½ cup Butter
½ cup Blanched; slivered almonds
1 tablespoon Dark brown sugar
2 \N Cloves garlic; pressed
½ teaspoon Salt
¼ teaspoon Pepper
¼ cup Dry white wine or sherry
4 smalls Dozen white onions; fresh or canned

Melt butter. Stir in almonds and brown sugar. Add pressed garlic, seasonings and wine. Add onions and stir until well coated. Cover and bake at 350ø for 1 hour, stirring or shaking pan occasionally to coat onions.

Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
