Ingredients

1cupYellow cornmeal
1cupAll purpose flour
1tablespoonSugar
1tablespoonPlus 1 ts baking powder
½teaspoonSalt
cupMilk
¼cupShortening, melted
1Egg, beaten
10Slice bacon, cooked/crumbled
Creole Celery Sauce

Directions

Combine first six ingredients, add milk, shortening, and egg mixing well. Stir in bacon. Pour batter into a well greased 8 inch square pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cut into squares, and serve with Creole Celery Sauce.
