Mint surprise cookies

Yield: 96 Servings

Measure Ingredient
1 cup Butter
1 cup Sugar
½ cup Brown sugar
2 Eggs
1 tablespoon Water
1 teaspoon Vanilla
3 cups Flour
1 teaspoon Soda
½ teaspoon Salt
16 ounces Chocolate mint wafers (not filled mints)
Nut halves (optional)
8 dozen.

Preheat oven to 350ø. Cream butter, add sugars, eggs, water and vanilla.

Sift flour with soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture a little at a time, beating on low. Chill dough. Wrap 2 mints in dough to cover. Put walnut or pecan half on top. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Yield: LEA TURNER (MRS. FINLEY)
