Mark and lily's chocolate cookies

Measure Ingredient
4½ cup Flour
2 teaspoons Baking soda
1 teaspoon Salt
1 pounds Butter
⅔ pounds [Trader Joe's] dark chocolate
⅓ cup Cocoa powder; optional
2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
4 \N Eggs
1 \N Bag semisweet chocolate chips

Mix first 3 ingredients together.

Melt butter and chocolate over low heat. Beat in vanilla Cool a bit Beat in eggs.

Add wet to dry ingredients. Mix promptly. Stir in chips.

Drop rounded tablespoonfuls onto baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake for 9½ to 10 minutes in oven preheated to 375 degrees. Makes 6 dozen 3-inch cookies. Eat entire batch before they cool. Deny having made any.
