½cupSliced mushrooms and liquid
1cupChopped onion
1teaspoonOregano
1largeCrushed garlic clove
½teaspoonBasil
cupWhole peeled tomatoes
1teaspoonSalt
cupTomato paste
teaspoonPepper
½cupWater

Directions

Brown ground chuck or hamburger with onion and garlic in large saucepan. Drain off fat. Add remaining ingredients. Stir to break up tomatoes. Boil gently, uncovered 1 hour. Stir occasionally. Serve over hot cooked pasta.
