Grits gruyere

Ingredients

1 | quart | Milk; |
½ | cup | Butter; |
1 | cup | Hominy grits; (not the quick cooking kind) |
1 | teaspoon | Salt; |
¼ | teaspoon | Pepper; |
⅓ | cup | Butter; melted |
1 | cup | Gruyere Cheese; grated |
⅓ | cup | Parmesan cheese; grated |
Directions
Bring milk to boil with ½ c butter. Stir in grits. Bring to boil and cook, stirring constantly over medium heat for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and add salt and pepper. Beat with electric mixer at high speed 5 minutes. Pour into a 2-quart mold and chill. Unmold and slice ¼" thick. Place slices one over another like fallen dominoes in a buttered shallow 9 X 15" loaf pan. Pour ⅓ cup melted butter over and sprinkle with grated cheeses. Make in 400 degrees over 30 to 35 minutes. Place under heated broiler unit and broil 1 minute.
