Grandma's apple roll

Ingredients

| ½ | cup | Lard |
| 1 | teaspoon | Baking powder |
| ¼ | teaspoon | Salt |
| ⅔ | cup | Milk |
| Flour | ||
| 4 | cups | Diced apples |
| Cinnamon and nutmeg | ||
| 2 | cups | Sugar |
| ¾ | cup | Water |
Directions
Mix together lard, baking powder, salt and milk. Add enough flour to mixture to make a soft dough. Roll dough out in oblong shape.
Sprinkle apples over dough. Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg over apples as desired. Roll dough and apples up as for a jellyroll. Cut into 1½ inch slices and place in a greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Mix sugar and water together to make syrup and pour over slices. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
