Florence henderson's pizza with turkey sausage

Ingredients

| ½ | pounds | Bacon; optional |
| 1 | tablespoon | Vegetable oil |
| ½ | pounds | Sweet Italian turkey sausage; casing removed |
| ½ | Yellow onion; chopped | |
| 1 | Clove garlic; minced | |
| 2 | tablespoons | Fresh basil; choppd |
| 1 | teaspoon | Dreid crushed red chili peppers |
| ¼ | cup | Tomato paste |
| 1 | pounds | Can crushed Italian tomatoes |
| 1 | pounds | Pepared pizza crust; (Boboli etc.) |
| ⅓ | pounds | Mozzarella cheese; shredded |
Directions
In a skillet, cook bacon on Medium heat for 3 minutes per side or until crisp. Drain, crumble when cooled and set aside. (Can do bacon in Microwave) In another skillet, heat oil until sizzling. Brown sausage for 12 minutes. Add onion, garlic, basil, crushed peppers, tomato paste and tomatoes. Simmer for 5 minutes. Place crust on aluminum foil and spread sausage mixture evenly. Add bacon. Top with mozzarella cheese. Heat in 350 F. oven for 5 minutes or until cheese is bubbly. MC formatting by bobbi744@...
NOTES : Serve as appetizer. Would serve 2-3 as main dish.
