4 slices | Bacon, Cooked And Crumbled |
* For use with Pillsbury's Best Self-Rising Flour, omit baking powder and salt.
Split frankfurters lengthwise, but do not cut through. Spread cut surface with mustard; top with a rounded tablespoonfuls of cottage cheese; set aside.
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in small mixer bowl. Add milk, oil and egg. Blend; then beat at medium speed 2 mins (or beat 300 strokes with a spoon). Spread on bottom of greased 9x5-inch pan.
Arrange frankfurters crosswise in pan, pressing to fit. Drizzle catsup over cottage cheese. Sprinkle with cheese or bacon. Bake at 400 F for 30 to 35 mins until golden brown. Cool 10 mins; remove to serving platter. Slice between frankfurters and serve.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
