Date and nut biscuits

Ingredients

| 2 | cups | Sifted bread flour |
| ½ | teaspoon | Salt |
| 3 | teaspoons | Baking powder |
| ¼ | cup | Shortening |
| ¾ | cup | Milk |
| ½ | cup | Chopped dates |
| ½ | cup | Chopped nuts |
Directions
These are from The Gold Cook Book.
1. Mix flour, salt and baking powder. Sift.
2. Cut in shortening with 2 knives until the consistency of coarse cornmeal.
3. Stir in the milk, a little at a time, to make a soft dough.
4. Add nuts and dates.
5. Turn out onto slightly floured board and knead for ½ min.
6. Roll to ½" thickness.
7. Cut in 2" rounds with floured cutter.
