2 tablespoons | Bacon, smoked, diced |
3 eaches | Onion, sliced |

1 cup | Water, hot |
Cut string beans in small pieces. Fry the bacon until crisp and brown, add the other ingredients and simmer for 1 hour. Add the hot water and continue cooking 2 hours longer, adding more water if necessary.
