Cocomalt cake

Measure Ingredient
¾ cup Sugar
¾ cup Cocomalt
2 tablespoons Melted shortening
1 Egg, well beaten
¾ cup Milk
1 cup Cake flour
1 teaspoon Baking powder
⅛ teaspoon Salt

Combine sugar and cocomalt. Add shortening and egg. Beat thoroughly. Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking powder and salt. Add alternately with milk to first mixture. Pour into well-oiled loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven (375 F) 35 minutes. The Household Searchlight
