1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a 2-qt glass bowl, melt chocolate and butter in a microwave on High 1½ to 2 mins, stirring once or twice until smooth and blended.
2. Add sugar, eggs, cream and vanilla. Whisk until well blended. Turn into crust.
3. Bake 30 to 35 mins, or until set. Cover edges of crust with foil during last 10 mins of baking time, if necessary, to prevent burning.
Serve warm or at room temperature, topped with whipped cream.
NOTES : A cross between a chocolate truffle and a brownie pie.
