Chinese barbecue sauce (char sui)

Measure Ingredient
½ cup Sherry
6 tablespoons Hoisin Sauce**
4 \N Cloves Garlic
2 teaspoons Salt
6 tablespoons Soy Sauce
1½ teaspoon Chinese 5-spice**
2 teaspoons Plum Sauce**
½ cup Sugar
2 teaspoons Black Bean Paste**

Mix together well. Heat in double boiler - add cornstarch for thickening.
