Chinarcha sharbat (rhubarb-pomegranate refresher)

450 grams Rhubarb; washed; trimmed, sliced - 1 lb
480 millilitres Water - 2 c
240 grams Sugar - 1 c or to taste
480 millilitres Pomegranate juice - 2 c
60 millilitres Strained orange juice or rose syrup - 1/4 c

makes 1½ L

Stew rhubarb with water and sugar for about 15 min. Strain juice; discard solids. Add juices and cool. Chill well and serve over ice.
